by numerous passages where Śivāstra figures as paməgat Tiruan.— 5masa(mū)n· ◇ masamun· TP&SEY • The lower part of the akṣara is rather unclear, but we seem to see an appendix to the left that would agree better
with -ū than with the expected -u.

Shortly after the discovery of the inscription, a preliminary draft edition was established by Arlo Griffiths directly from the stone and from photos. This work, begun in 2015, was brought to a preliminary conclusion in July 2017. At that time, it was planned to make the publication of the inscription a collaboration with UGM students Nurmalia Habibah Zakariya Pamuji Aminullah, so that Griffiths’ draft that was circulated to some colleagues also bore those students’ names, even though they had not made any concrete contribution then. The planned collaboration was abandoned when a reading of the inscription, making some use of the ciculated draft, was published shortly thereafter (Tjahjono Prasodjo and Susetya Edy Yuwono 2019). The reading offered here is a significant improvement upon the 2015–2017 draft thanks to renewed direct inspection of the stone in March 2023 and the photogrammetry created by Adeline Levivier at that time. We record only significant variant readings from the edition published by Tjahjono Prasodjo and Susetya Edy Yuwono (which in most of these reading agrees with Griffiths’ earlier draft).
