2 Upana • Above the na syllable of Upana, there is a mark that looks like an anusvāra. however, it seems to be accidental.
5 dha⟨⟨rmma⟩⟩kāmārtha • We notice that three points seem to accompany the words of the compound: one is
placed to the right of -rmma- (for dharmma-), another under the kā- of kāmā-, and the third one under the mā- where the word -ārtha begins. Are these visual indications made by or for the engraver to correctly place
these three terms ?
6 va[ne]śvarī ◇ va śvari GC • Cœdès remarks that this pāda, which is missing a syllable, is corrupted, and also suggests vanacarī/i to complete the meter Cœdès 1937–1966: volume 3, page 41, note 6. However, his suggestion is far from the the clearly legible
portion of the word (-śvari). The term vaneśvarī is a possible solution that we propose in our edition, but vāgīśvarī (another name of Sarasvatī) could be another possibility.
