1The Lord [of] Caṅkāṇṭāḷ.↓1

Commentary

Ramachandran 1954 comments thus: "The donor’s name is given here. Or it may mean the Buddha, the Lord of all treasures (including śaṅkha)." If the correct reading is caṅkāṇṭāḷ (a feminine form) and not caṅkāṇṭāṉ, the interpretation as a designation of the Buddha seems precluded.
