1 Prosperity! Fortune!
2-6 The gold that Nantippōttaraiyar, who vanquished at Teḷḷāṟu, has given for the Mahādeva of Tiruvaiyāṟu.
6-12 So as, with this gold, keep burning one perpetual lamp, we have become those who will regularly (nicati) provide a uri of oil, [measured] as per the [standard] kumaramāttāṇṭam, in this temple as long as the moon and the sun, we, the members of the assembly of Kārikuṭi.
12-23 While the village delegates, including Karuvūr Kāriyāṉ [of] the village of Antaṉūr gave [this gold], [there were] ten mā of land that Naṉṉaṉ Ciṟunampi of Koṟṟamaṅkalam in the Amparnāṭu, who obtained [the gold] from these↓1, gave for regularly keeping burning [with] a uri of oil,[measured] as per the [standard] kumaramāttāṇṭam, one perpetual lamp for the Mahādeva of Tiruvaiyāṟu ... (maṇalūrntu)↓2.
Note on the identification of Nantippōttaraiyar, who vanquished at Teḷḷāṟu, contra Swaminathan 1995.
Edited in Tiyākarācaṉ 1994 (Āvaṇam 4, no. 1); re-edited, in transliteration, without diacritics for alveolar consonants, with substantial variant readings, in Swaminathan 1995; text in Dayalan 2005; encoded and translated here for DHARMA (ERC n° 809994) by Emmanuel Francis (2022), based on previous edition(s).
↑1. That is, the village delegates of Antaṉūr.
↑2. Swaminathan 1995 understands that the assembly of Kārikuṭi transfered the gold to a village delegate
of Antaṉūr, who himself entrusted it to Naṉṉaṉ Ciṟunampi to supply the oil out of
the "proceeds" of the land purchased with the gold.
