ARIE 1939-1943.
(p. 230): "From Sumaṅgali in the North Arcot District comes a record (No. 127 of 1939-40) engraved in characters of about the 9th century A.D. It is dated in the 7th year of a certain Kātuppaṭṭi and records the construction of the Śiva temple at the place by a certain Kaṭṭāyakaṉ, son of Ottūraṉ, the headman of Kommai, who also made an endowment of land for worship therein. The ldentity of Kātuppaṭṭi is uncertain. It is possible that he was connected with the family of Kātuveṭṭi Muttaraca and his son Arikaṇṭa who figure as feudatories in the records of Dantivarman (No. 89 of 1921) and Nṛpatunga (No. 461 of 1905)."
