    Apparatus

    2–3 maṇikka/llamaṇikka/lla RN RN has maṇikkallai in his summary, that is the Accusative form.
    4–5 mēṭṭiṇa/[ṉ ē]ṉātimēṭṭiṇa/[2*]ṉāti RN mēṭṭiṇaṉ ēṉāti is restored following the summary in RN.
    6 [Akka]ḻimallaṉ[2*]ḻimallaṉ RN Akkaḻimallaṉ is restored following the summary in IP.

    1-6 Vāṇaṉ, the son of the general Kōṭaṉ Mēṭṭiṇaṉ, fell ... [when] he came to besiege (kai koṇṭu↓1) Maṇikkal in Vēṇāṭu, alias Iḷaṅkuṉṟi in Vēṇāṭu.

    6 [This is] the stone that Akkaḵimallāṉ has had planted.
