    Translation by Emmanuel Francis

1-2 Sixth year of the victorious king Kampavarman.

2-12 When Cākāṭāc Ciṟṟaṉ, who resides (irunta vāḷum) [in] Eḻumāttūr in Koṅkam↓1 seized buffaloes [in] Puḷiyūr in Mīkoṉṟaināṭu, Cākāṭāc Ciṟṟaṉ fell [when] running [for] battle, fighting in Maṇikkalavaṭavūr in Mēlvēṇāṭu [and] liberating buffalo cattle.

Translation into French by Emmanuel Francis

    Commentary

The record is not clear about the connexion of both actions of Cākāṭac Ciṟṟaṉ, the first in Puḷiyūr in Mīkoṉṟaināṭu and the second in Maṇikkalavaṭavūr in Mēlvēṇāṭu. Mahalingam 1988 understands that he first fought at Maṇikkalavaṭavūr and then died at Puḷiyūr.
