    1-3Tirthy-third [year] of the victorious king Mahendravarman↓1.

    3-13[This is the stone of] ... , the honourable son [of] Putaṇaṭi [and] the servant [of] the honourable Kantaviṇṇaṉ↓2, he who fell ... (nallaṉāy tirintu ), when the honourable Kanta(vi)ṇṇaṉ, the son [of] Iṇṇapantar attacked (eṟinta) marching (ceṉṟa) upon (mēl) Vēlaṭṭu(ṇ) against (mēl) the honourable Poṉṉarampaṉ, the son [of] poṇaimaṇaiṉṉār, [one] among the nephews [of] the royal Bāṇa king.
