    1Hail! Prosperity! In the fifteenth year [of the reign] of Kampavarman. The writing of us, the assembly of Uṭkar. We have received one thousand kāṭis of paddy from Caṭaiyaṉ.

    2We, the assembly, shall close [the sluice of] the tank [to collect water for irrigation], and shall cause five hundred kāṭis of paddy to be supplied every year as interest on these one thousand kāṭis of paddy.

    3We declare that those who disobey this, shall incur [all] the sins committed between the Gaṅgā and Kumari. The great men↓1 elected↓2 for the year shall cause [thepaddy] to be supplied.

    1 Prosperity! Fortune!

    1 Fifteenth year of Kampavarman (kampava(r)mma)

    1 Writings (i.e. writ) of We the members of the assembly (sabhai, i.e. Skt. sabhā) of Uṭkal.

    1-2 We have got (i.e. received) one thousand kāṭis from Caṭaiyaṉ.

    2-3 Having endowed/supplied (aṭṭi) for the tank the interest of five hundred kāṭis every year [which comes] through the paddy of these one thousand kāṭis, We, the members of the assembly (sabhā) are those who will close [it, i.e. the sluice of the tank].

    3 Those who say it is not so, let them undergo the sin done by those who do (ceytār) [sin] between the Ganges and Kumari (i.e. Kaṉṉiyākumari). [So] have we ordered/declared (paṇittōm).

    3 The great men of the committee for the year are due to/should/have the duty of (kaṭavār) having it [the five hundred kāṭi] flowing/being supplied/endowed.

    Commentary

    The same Caṭaiyaṉ is the donor of paddy for the feeding daily two Brahmins at Uṭkal in DHARMA_INSPallava00210 (year 10 of Kampavarman).
