1Prosperity! Fortune!
1Eighth year of the victorious king Kampavikramavarman.
1Writ of We, the members of the assembly of Uttaramerucaturvedimaṅgala.
1-2For the honourable Mahāviṣṇu of the glorious Govardhana [of] our village, [there is] a land given as arcanā-bhoga.
2-3We have given as arcanā-bhoga for the honourable Mahāviṣṇu of the glorious Govardhana one thousand two hundred kuḻis entirely (-um), through what comes, in our village, [as] kuḻi (kuḻi vanta-v āṟṟ-āl, literally “by the way kuḻis have come”), south of the land given for the temple [of] Araiyar in the land that lies uncultivated (kiṭanta) in the middle [of the land named] Malliyāṉ Kārāṇai and east of the tank [of the land named] Malliyāṉ Kārāṇai.
4-5This arcanā-bhoga for the Lord to feed when worshipping [him] (upāsitt’, i.e. upācitt’, uṇṇa uṭaiyaṉ-āka), We have given [it] to (i.e. in the care of)) Dāmodara-bhaṭṭa, son of the glorious Vaikhānasa Dāmodara-bhaṭṭa [of] our village, and to his sons and grandsons (putra-pautrikam, i.e. hereditarily) so as to feed [the Lord] when worshipping [him].
5-We have given these one thousand two hundred kuḻis entirely (-um), declaring (paṇittu) [them] as tax-free.
5-6We, the members of the assembly of Uttaramerucaturvedimaṅgala, have given a garden of delight (nanta-vaṉam, i.e. Skt. nanda-vana) with (iṭṭu-k koṇṭu) the fruit-bearing trees (payaṉ-maram), including the flower-bearing trees, so that Dāmodara-bhaṭṭa feed (the Lord) when worshipping [him].
7I, the glorious Puruṣa Ācārya, have written [this], at the order of the members of the assembly (sabhaiyār paṇippa, literally “as the members of the assembly ordered [me])"
