The inscription is incomplete. It appears to be a later copy (11th century?) of an original Pallava inscription.IP notes: "Continuation is lost. It is engraved in characters of the 11 th century A.D. The stone bearing this record must have belonged originally to a temple of Viṣṇu (Tirumēṟṟaḷi-Aḍigaḷ) in the village and was probably shifted here at some later time." and "The name Avaṉinārāyaṇa-caturvēdimaṅgalam must have been given to Kāvidipākkam after the surname of Avaṉinārāyaṇa borne by Nandivarman III."
Edited in Venkatasubba Ayyar 1943 (SII 12, no. 67); text and summary in Mahalingam 1988 (IP no. 158); encoded here for DHARMA (ERC n° 809994) and translated for the first time by Emmanuel Francis, based on previous editions.
