    Translation by Emmanuel Francis

    Prosperity! Fortune!

We the members of the assembly (sabhā) of Uttaramērucaturvedimaṅkalam, we have allotted (vaittōm) one land of four paṭṭi Malliyaṉ, as a single plot (tiraḷ-ē), as arcanābhoga, to the great god of Tiruppulivanam.

This should be for feeding (uṇpatu) a Brahmin, who is reputed as (uktaṉ-ākiya) skilled in the Vedas and the proper way of its recitation and who is a brahmācārin, for making worship (ārādhitt) three times [a day].

In this manner (ipparicu) we have alloted [this] for a limit of three years for each entrant (pukkār pukkārkku).

    Signature of Vastuvidyāmayaṉ.

    Commentary

1Malliyaṉ Kārāṇai designates the land given. It incorporates the personal name Malliyaṉ.
